Burst Geyser at your home? Here are the warning signs you should be aware of
Running out of Warm Water
Unable to give hot water is the most typical issue of a geyser. It appears generally in large water heaters that heat up to 150L-200L of water and mineral deposited on the heating element stops heating properly.
It can lead to the leakage or replacement of the heating element.
It is also typical to hear strange noises out of a geyser but it should be repaired right away. This is also due to the same reason and that is mineral deposits. These deposits insulate the water from heating and the water heater starts to overheat thus causing noises. Resulting in fatigue and possibly a leakage of the tank.
Cloudy or Hot Water that smells
Cloudy or water with a smell is a sign that your geyser is failing.
Rusting and Leaking geyser or valves and fittings
Rust is the outcome of the reaction that occurs between the steel material of the tank and water. An anode rod prevents the corrosion and due to natural reasons, the geyser will ultimately be corroded. This is when the corrosive forces attach to the tank and connections causing them to ultimately leak or burst.
Defective Temperature and Pressure Relief Valve (TP Valve).
The temperature and pressure relief valve is present in the geyser whereas a safety relief valve will help to release the pressure. In case of a defective or capped off safety valve, the geyser can also blast. Never cap off a temperature and pressure relief valve, you must change any faulty or leaking values.
Leaking water from your Geyser.
Leaking water from the tank is the most obvious warning of a geyser that needs to be upgraded before it damages your property. A leaking Geyser can flood your entire property.
