Bush House is found in the malaria free Big Five Madikwe Game Reserve.
A home away from home, somewhere special, a place to kick off your shoes, unwind and head on down to the waterhole to relax with a drink in hand.
One of the original farmhouses in the area the Bush House has grown into a home in the bush- an informal lodge that wants guests to feel part of the family.
Dinners in the Boma under black inky skies with the stars for lights are truly special. Scrumptious meals and delicious South African wines are all part of being at home; where you lose track of time and the loudest noise is the sound of crickets.
Our garden is filled with colourful trees and creepers. The rolling green grass is the perfect vantage point to watch the birds, see what is coming to the waterhole or relax in the shade with a book.
We welcome children at the Lodge and on Game drives at the discretion of our guide. We take children for their own special game drive if they are too young to accompany adults.
An exciting new addition is an underground hide that borders on the very edge of the waterhole. A water point is located close to the front opening. There are spectacular views of animals and birds incredibly close up- either drinking or walking right past.
Spoil yourself in a candlelit bath with bubbles or sit in the Lodge's garden watching the abundant birdlife. Between game drives the day belongs solely to you. Reading a book or lounging at the rock pool often leads to closing of eyes and delicious cat naps.
Watching the sun rise over the hills lifts the spirits for the day and ending your evening, after dinner, sitting at the floodlit waterhole is the ultimate lullaby before bed.
Let our Home become your Home in the Bush. We look forward to seeing you and welcoming you to the family. Come as a guest leave as a friend.
