POSITION: FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER
Key Performance Areas: (Not Totally Inclusive)
The Service Engineer is primarily responsible for all kinds of maintenance or repair work for:
• Turbo compressors within the product range
• Reciprocating compressors within the Burckhardt Compression product range
on site (customer’s premises) Some of these responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Routine or preventative maintenance, breakdowns or any kind of inspection or repair work as required by the customer.
• The Health and Safety of all people working onsite under the Service Engineer, as required by the OHS Act.
• Quality workmanship and maintenance work, including
Routine maintenance and preventative maintenance on-site
Attend to breakdowns and new machine installations
• Trouble shooting and fault finding
• Complete Project Management
On site assembly and installations
Erection/Commissioning and Plant overhaul
SHEQ responsibilities
• Pending on the workload, it might be required from-time-to-time to do maintenance or repair work in the workshops.
• In house compressor work - stripping & refurbishing compressors or parts and valve servicing
Core behavioural competencies:
• Must be highly motivated, efficient and able to work well under pressure
• Ability to make decisions and meet deadlines
• Must be able to maintain good interpersonal relations and must be a team player
• Strong technical background and previous experience in similar or same environment, a strong recommendation
Skills Required:
Qualified artisan with relevant Turbo machinery experience, pre-requisite
Trade Test Certificate & N3 Mechanical qualification
Good Computer skills- Microsoft Office & Microsoft Projects, preferable
Minimum of 5 years experience in same or similar industry
Excellent communication skills necessary to liaise with the workshop, customers, suppliers/sub-contractors and management
Salary range from R25 to R30,000 CTC
