POSITION: Management Accountant
Salary: R29 000 CTC / Month  
Location:  CT - Foreshore  

About the Company:
Empowerment Investment Group, Listed on the main board of JSE seeks to employ a Management Accountant with 3 years relevant experience in a similar role. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Manager. 
• Assist the Accountant with the monthly reconciliation, verification and updating of the companies fixed asset register
• Ensure that the accounts payable function operates efficiently and effectively in achieving its role as the payment provider of the company
• Finalize monthly management accounting including management reporting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Liaise with insurance if required
• Ensure departments complete and submit petty cash schedules correctly and timeously
• Management of the cash, bank, invoicing and accounts payable functions
• Preparation, reviewing and submission of taxation and tax compliance (incl. income tax, PAYE and VAT)
• Compiling and maintaining of departmental budget
• Maintaining of Internal Control Standards
• Monthly reporting to Group Financial Manager
• Ensure that accurate and complete audit files are prepared timeously
• Prepare any adhoc investigations and reports as requested by the Group Financial Manager or Finance Director
• Effective management of staff
• 3 years relevant experience
• B Com Accounting or member of CIMA
• Knowledge of SA tax
• Excellent report writing skills and proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, an accounting package (preferably Great Plains) and a fixed asset package
• Display effective leadership skills
• Ability to work effectively to meet tightly scheduled deadlines
• Willing to work overtime (when required)
• High respect for confidentiality
• To maintain good quality standards and service levels
• Attention to detail
