Two guest bedrooms:
Come and stay in the Purple House in Smithfield in the Free State. This is the house where the famous South African artist, J.H. Pierneef lived for two months in 1935! You will be staying in the same room as Mr. Pierneef or in our second bedroom that is inside our Art Gallery!.
Pierneef came to Smithfield to replicate some bushmen paintings in the hills surrounding the town and came to live here with his friend, who was the bank manager at the time.
We supply coffee and tea in the room. Bathroom with shower and bath next door and at night you have your own seperate toilet and basin just outside the door.
