Nieuwoudtville

Bokkeveld, Boesmanland, Hantam, Knersvlakte: these fascinating South African regions converge at Nieuwoudtville, a hamlet on the Bokkeveld Mountain Plateau. It is a botanical marvel with the highest speciation of bulbs in the world and the most beautiful landscapes. Flowers appear from late March to October, peaking in August and September.

We refer to Nieuwoudtville as the Bulb Capital of the World, since it has the highest speciation of bulbs in the world. South Africa’s greatest contribution to world horticulture has been bulbs such as Freesia, Ixia, Tritonia, Gladiolus, Babiana, Sparaxis, Dierama, Clivia and many others.
