ITINERARY

Soweto & Johannesburg City Tour but with a DIFFERENCE!

Johannesburg is an extraordinary city, spawned explosively just over 120 years ago, on what remains a deceptively drab windswept plain, yet this was the perfect grounds for the flowering of the fantastic mineral wealth of the Witwatersrand “Gold”

Soweto which became the stage upon which in the second half of the 20th century, an extraordinary political sceptre of gargantuan proportions publicly played out. Soweto became the crucible of some of history’s most momentous political innovations. See what other tourists don’t and broaden your consciousness and an increased appreciation of your fellow countrymen.

A tour of Johannesburg and Soweto signifies the healing and nourishing of the soul with its thrilling and heart-warming stories of enterprise, courage and sacrifice, it is a great gift to anyone and we hope this tour helps you and your staff to discover it.
Sophiatown is where hundreds of black, coloured, Indian and Chinese people were forcibly removed from their homes under the Group Areas Act and relocated to areas designated by the government. Constitutional Hill, Johannesburg’s most notorious jail where the struggle for liberation strengthened, the state enforced harsh legislation which gave it the power to take action against those who opposed it.

The likes of former president Nelson Mandela and Ghandi were imprisoned at the Fort, later named Number Four. Today it houses the Constitutional Court which guards our constitution and democracy. Newtown Cultural Precinct is home to numerous organizations and enterprises linked to the arts. Attractions include Museum Africa where exhibitions relating to the history of Johannesburg can be seen.
