What is Debt Review? You may have heard the term in the press and wondered exactly what it means. Debt Review is a formal process intended to help over-indebted South African consumers rehabilitate their financial affairs. The Process of Debt Review was introduced in2007 with the implementation of the National Credit Act (NCA).
Debt Review is a process performed by NCR-registered Debt Counsellors to determine how deep in debt a consumer really is and whether their debt is actually unaffordable. As part of the process the counsellor will also contact creditors in order to re-negotiate the indebted person’s payment terms and attempt to reduce the monthly payment.
If you are having trouble managing your debt and meeting your financial commitments at the end of each month, you should speak to a professional Debt Counsellor. Your Debt Counsellor will be able to explain more about what Debt Review is and how it can benefit you.
