Permanent Network Engineer Cape Town, Western Cape - South Africa

Description

Location: Cape Town
Salary : R15 000- R18 000 pm

Purpose of Role Accountabilities:

Candidate will perform day to day internal networking maintenance as well as the design and installation of customer networks
Assist in or take the lead on planning, building and spec’ing of network solutions for either the business or customer requirements

Undertaking data network fault investigations and implementing resolutions in local and wide area environments

Ensure proper configuration and deployment of ISP or customer networking equipment while adhering to company standards and practices

Liaising with project management team, 3rd line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis

Critical Requirements :
• Matric
• Diploma in network engineer minimum
• Clear credit and crim record
• Excellent understanding of switching and routing and their related technologies,
TCP/IP, IP Addressing (v4 and v6), CIDR and DNS. Cisco CCNA or equivalent would advantageous
• Excellent understanding of long-range wireless, Ethernet, ADSL and Diginet
• At least two years’ experience as an ISP network engineer or in network administration and maintenance
• Must be well spoken, have a good command of the English language and must be able to deal with customers in a professional manner.
