It’s time to re-live some memories or make some new ones in this 1975 Volkswagen Kombi Crew Cab. This turnkey air-cooled classic is just begging for a road trip.
If you’re looking at this van, you better be prepared to make some new friends. That’s because the fun of a VW Bus is all about the character and camaraderie of ownership. The Type 2 (the original Beetle was the Type 1) was (and in some cases still is) a symbol of the counter-culture and it only gets better when you can get away from society and enjoy the outdoors. The two-tone Savannah Beige and Ivory is the perfect colour combination to represent the 1970s, and the straightness of the body panels tells you that it’s earlier life on the road wasn’t a hard one.
These are terrific road-trip machines, and the interior of this one is an especially nice place to be. It’s simple, but the driver and passengers get all the right comforts with the original bench seats in superb condition, plus the large steering wheel and gearshift are all within easy reach. It has new rubber floor mats for durability, perfect for those surf trips, and raw wooden trim panels to complete the look and feel of this van. It’s an amazing setup that we know has you thinking about how to use it for everything, from road-trips to the next car show.
This second-generation Crew Cab comes with plenty of engineering improvements. The 1800cc air-cooled motor powering this van is more powerful than anything available in the first generation. The VW flat-four airc-cooled motor is one of the most economical and robust powerplants to enjoy. In fact, this one has been professionally overhauled, with many new components, and is extremely well-maintained. That’s why this well-kept example fires up nicely and runs strong. Another reason why the 2nd-gen Type 2s are so desirable is because the suspension was also greatly improved. The original vans utilized a modified Beetle setup, but this van was built to better handle the unique weight and size of the vans, giving it a more stable and comfortable ride.
This is the classic that can do it all- get you there, give you something to show off, and then offer you a great investment for the future. Don’t miss the opportunity to own this rare classic icon! This vehicle is licenced and registered in South Africa.
