Cooler Boxing Holdings, supported by the City of Tshwane, will be setting Attridgeville in Pretoria ablaze as they unleash their 7th Annual Cooler Boxing Day music spectacular at the Lucas “Masterpiece” Moripe stadium on Saturday 26 December 2015. This fourteen (14) hour showpiece starts at 2pm and is set to provide heart stopping house and hip-hop beats until 2am on Sunday morning. Cooler Boxing Day has become the signature event on the Attridgeville entertainment calendar and has attracted over 10 00 patrons last year. The organisers have planned to accommodate 20 000 revelers with their star studded line-up at this year’s event.
Tebatso Kiewiet, the event organiser says this event is much bigger and better than all their previous events with a line-up of the hottest Hip-Hop artist and House DJs that Mzansi can offer with an international DJ and producer topping the bill.
Charles Webster, who is a British electronic music producer and DJ, who specialises in producing house music, will appear alongside South African icon Ntokozo Mdluli, popularly known by his stage name, K.O, who is a South African rapper who rose to fame with the group Teargas.
Kiewiet says Cooler Boxing Day will also showcase South African rapper, Anati, who has collaborated with famous American hip-hop producer and rapper DJ Khaled on his single, Bananaz. Anati boast as the creative power behind L’Tido’s debut single - When It Rains.
Another headliner at the event is Heavy K who has worked with an array of stars such as Tira, DJ Cyndo, Big Nuz, Black Motion, Professor, Revolution, Bucie and Oskido.
Topping the local hit list is DJ Vigilante, better known as Vigi, who resides in Pretoria and is a host on the popular show, Nocturnal Tribe and according to Tebatso Kiewiet he doesn”t seem to have any intentions of slowing down. Vigi has shared stages with the likes of Black Coffee, DJ Kent, Rocco, Ludz, DV-Que Andy Compton, Voqul, DJ Dimplez, Clone, & Culoe De Song to name but a few and is set to turn the heat on at Cooler Boxing Day.
Cooler Boxing Day will feature seventeen (17) other acts and DJs and Kiewiet has vowed to keep the trendy Gauteng youth on their dancing feet.
Tebatso Kiewiet, Themba Dube, Nqobi Makhanya and Thage Phasha started Cooler Boxing Day in 2009 as a spin-off of the traditional family and community get together on Boxing Day in the local park in Attridgeville where, in building on family and community relationships, people got together in a picnic atmosphere.
Cooler Boxing Day apparel will also be on sale alongside tasty eats & treats and liquid refreshment for those whose cooler boxes will run on empty.
Early bird tickets are on sale at Computicket at R150 and R200 at the gate. R100 will be charged for every cooler box and no bottles or glass will be allowed onto the stadium precinct as strict security measures will be in place.
